  1. You reside more than 50km from any LTU campus and do not regularly attend campus.

  2. You study/work at any of these locations:

Registering for remote delivery

If you would like to use our remote delivery service (and you satisfy the eligibility criteria), please select the button below to submit a registration request. You will be notified by email after your request is reviewed (usually within 3 business days). If successful, you will then be able to request physical items be posted to you from the Library.

How to use the remote delivery service

You can have physical items delivered to you from LTU Library's collections and from some external (non-LTU) libraries. The process to make a request for remote delivery is described below.

  • Sign in to Library Collections Search and then search for the item you want delivered.

  • After selecting the item from the search results and viewing its details, check the section titled 'Get it'.

If the item is available for remote delivery, you will be able to select either a Request link (if it is within LTU Library's collections) or a Document delivery link (if it is available from an external library).
Note: If you are unable to find the item in your search results, select Document Delivery from the main menu and fill in the item's details.

  • Select either Remote Delivery: Remote Address or Work address as the pick-up location and submit the request.
Note: If you do not see either of those options in the list of locations, please contact the Library to check if you are registered for remote delivery.

  • The physical item will be posted to your nominated postal address.
Note: The package will also include a postage-paid addressed return envelope.

  • Return the item to your closest LTU campus Library or use the postage-paid return envelope that was supplied to post the item back to the Library.
Note: It is your responsibility to ensure items have been returned to the Library by their due date.

FAQs

If an item listed in the Library collections is able to be delivered using the remote delivery service, there will be a Request or Document delivery link provided in the 'Get it' section of its details.

Items that are not available for delivery are generally large, fragile or not able to be borrowed (i.e. for use only within the Library).

Standard delivery times are 3-7 business days, however, there may be delays if the item is in storage or it is from an external library.

If you are a student, you can update your preferred postal address via StudentOnLine.

If you are an LTU staff member, you will need to update your address via MyHR.

For further assistance, please contact the Library or email the Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Service team.

No, items cannot be delivered overseas through the remote delivery service.

If you reside in New Zealand, you may be able to borrow directly from external libraries through the ULANZ borrowing scheme.

If you are unable to visit one of our campus libraries to return the item, please post it to the following address:
