Educational partners
Wodonga Institute of TAFE
La Trobe University and Wodonga TAFE have a long history of providing educational pathways for students. Wodonga TAFE is located beside our campus, giving students access to both facilities and helping make transitions from TAFE to uni seamless. Wodonga TAFE's Careerdirect gives our students the opportunity to use their TAFE qualification as a stepping stone to uni.
Educational Partnerships Program
Our Educational Partnerships Program (EPP) works collaboratively with schools to raise awareness of higher education and inform career goals by providing access to activities that engage students and their school communities. Our partner schools include:
- James Fallon High School
- Murray High School
- Wodonga Senior Secondary College
- Wangaratta High School.
Year 11 Pathways to La Trobe
This unique educational program was piloted at our campus and has expanded to other regional campuses. Selected local year 11 students participate in a program with tailored workshops and resources. This helps them become independent learners in preparation for university study. Staff and current students mentor the students to gain a university offer.
Nexus program
The first of its kind, the Nexus program aims to recruit, prepare and graduate teachers in low socioeconomic schools in regional areas. You receive a salary as a teacher's aide while undertaking studies in the Master of Teaching (Primary) or Masters of Teaching (Secondary). As a Nexus participant, you could work at Wodonga Senior Secondary College or other schools across the region while completing your studies.
