April 2025

Welcome to my April blog. We’re in the midst of our 2025 graduation program, which commenced in Albury-Wodonga last month.

March 2025

Welcome to my March blog. Despite the onset of autumn, the weather shows few signs of cooling down. Nonetheless, the warm start to March provided a perfect backdrop to welcome new and returning students onto campus for the 2025 academic year.

February 2025

Welcome to my first blog of 2025. I hope you enjoyed the summer break and the opportunity to spend time with friends and family, read some books, visit the beach, or do whatever activities you enjoy in your downtime.

December 2024

Welcome to my December blog, in which I know it’s customary to look back on the year that was and reflect on some of our achievements from the last 12 months.

November 2024

As I write, we’re halfway through Semester 2 exams and nearing the end of another successful academic year at La Trobe. Approaching year’s end is a time to begin reflecting on what we have achieved during 2024 – and to look ahead to next year.

October 2024

I am delighted with the excellent news announced yesterday about our position in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.

September 2024

I hope you have enjoyed the mid-semester break this week and are feeling refreshed for the last half of Semester 2 teaching.

August 2024

It’s been great to see our campuses come back to life with students returning for Semester 2 – there’s nothing like the buzz created by students socialising over coffee in between classes.

July 2024

I hope you’re enjoying semester break and the opportunity to do field work, attend conferences, and plan for Semester 2 – or take some leave from work to spend time with friends and family.

June 2024

It was great to be in Mildura last week for our second all-staff webinar of the year. During my visit, I also met with campus stakeholders including the Mildura Rural City Council, local health services, and schools, and took part in a fantastic launch event for our new Gabra Biik, Wurruwila Wutja Indigenous Research Centre.

May 2024

Welcome to my May blog. Mornings in Melbourne have been decidedly chilly lately – a sign that winter is approaching. Thankfully, we’ve still been blessed with some glorious afternoon sunshine. I know it can get very cold at some of our regional communities during the winter months, so I hope you can make the most of the sunny days while they last.
