When can I apply for a new 2025 permit?
You can apply online for vPermits for 2025 from 1 January 2025.
All salary deducted vPermits from 2024 will automatically carry over into 2025 with the relevant parking fees applied. You can cancel your vPermit at any time by logging into your vPermit account.
If you’d like to organise a new vPermit, register your information at vPermit, then apply.
Why are the 2025 parking fees changing?
We regularly review and adjust our parking fees to ensure they align with the current economic landscape. The fees for 2025 have been revised in accordance with the Consumer Price Index (CPI), reflecting the increasing costs associated with maintaining and operating our facilities and infrastructure.

The 2025 parking fees will come into effect from 1 January 2025.
How are parking fees determined?
La Trobe University reviews all fees and charges annually as part of the annual budget process. This review includes parking, alongside services requiring improvements. In addition, during annual reviews, parking services are benchmarked against other providers and other similar Universities.
Where does the money go?
The University is committed to providing a safe and accessible University community by continuing to improve its facilities, infrastructure and services. Parking fees are reinvested back into the University and enable us to improve our facilities, pathways, safety, lighting, transport and infrastructure on campus and to continue to deliver initiatives such as such the Uni-Safe service.
When was the last time parking prices went up?
Parking fees are reviewed annually and prices typically increase each year in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI). The last time parking fees were increased was in 2024.
Will parking fees increase again?
Parking fees will continue to be reviewed annually and may be subject to an annual adjustment in excess of CPI.
Do I need to reapply for a salary deducted vPermit if I had one in 2024?
No, all salary deducted vPermits from 2024 will automatically carry over into 2025 with the relevant parking fees applied.
I’m a staff member and have applied for a salary deducted vPermit for 2025, when will I notice the deduction in my pay?
When purchasing a permit through salary deduction, the first deduction will be for a full fortnight i.e. the first deduction will not be pro-rated even if the permit is purchased towards the end of the current pay period.
The first deduction for 2025 will take effect as of the first full pay period in 2025 – week commencing 11 January 2025. This will be reflected on payslips for the pay period ending on 24 January 2025.
