Melbourne parking

All you need to know about parking at the Melbourne (Bundoora) Campus.

All La Trobe campuses are subject to Victorian traffics laws, so please obey the roads rules and signs.

We have a range of permit and payment options no matter how frequent you park. All options are ticketless which means you don’t need to display a ticket.

All car parking spaces on the Melbourne Campus require paid parking Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm. Outside of these hours, parking is free.

Important: You park at your own risk and the University will not accept responsibility for any damage, accidents or losses.

vPermits or virtual permits are recommended for full-time and part-time staff and students parking regularly.

Annual and 6 month permits are available for students.

Annual, 6 month and 90 day permits are available for staff

Visit vPermit for more information and how to apply.

For hourly or daily parking, pay-as-you-go using our ticketless parking options. These are suited to staff, students or visitors parking casually.

CellOPark Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) is an easy alternative to parking meters which allows you to pay via an app, phone or online - only pay for the time you park.

Pay-by-Plate parking meters are a ticketless system using your vehicle registration - pay hourly or daily.

All car parks have a limited number of accessibility bays. To use an accessibility bay reserved for people with disabilities, a valid accessibility parking permit administered by your local council is required. Parking is free in these bays as long as your permit is valid and clearly displayed.

However if you opt to park in a White or Red Bay, you will need to pay for parking. Please refer to the Accessible Parking Permit (APP) Scheme for more details on APP-specific conditions.

Motorcycle parking is free in areas reserved for motorcycles in Car Park 3 and the Visitor's Car Park.

Motorcycles may also be parked in any general (white) car parking bays with the purchase of a valid parking permit.

There are a number of facilities and options for bicycle parking and storage.

Visit Transport Central - Cycling for more information.

Carpooling and car share schemes are a simple, cheap and convenient way of getting to uni.

Visit carpooling and car share schemes for more information.

The University issues 6 month and 12 month parking permits to externally based contractors who regularly require access to yellow service bays (inner campus) to undertake maintenance and/or building project-related works as engaged by the University. Service (contractor) permits are available through vPermit.
