ACAMI actively participates in the development of a highly skilled workforce, through our exceptional undergraduate, postgraduate, postdoctoral and short course capabilities.
With a co-development approach with industry, companies and other institutions across Australia’s RNA ecosystem, La Trobe leads the development and retention of a highly skilled workforce.
ACAMI addresses key workforce initiatives for the current and future AI-related workforce development needs of Victoria’s wider medical research ecosystem. This includes development and delivery of:

PRODUCING THE NEXT GENERATION OF EXPERT INSTRUCTORS AND RESEARCH SUPERVISORS
La Trobe’s participation in industry collaborative research and clinical development will produce experts who will directly influence the development of coursework and graduate research programs for Victoria’s next generation workforce.
ATTRACTING STUDENTS
ACAMI will access students who are part of existing relevant streams of professional disciplines, as well as La Trobe’s own AI stream. Graduates and established professionals in allied disciplines can steer their careers toward high demand areas as the industry evolves. This includes candidates from other universities, locally, or from around the world.
LEARNING PATHWAYS WITH MULTIPLE ENTRY AND EXIT POINTS
The course architecture, and the learning pathways it enables, is designed to produce an industry relevant workforce, with cross-discipline skills. This architecture enables La Trobe to provide a flexible and timely response that can be adapted as demand evolves.
