La Trobe highly ranked in key subject

La Trobe University has strengthened its position as a world-leading University for research and teaching in the 2019 Times Higher Education subject rankings.

Business and Economics at La Trobe placed in the 251-300 band, ranking 256th globally.

Head of La Trobe Business School, Professor Jane Hamilton, said it was pleasing to have a key subject area recognised by the prestigious ranking agency.

“This ranking reflects La Trobe’s high impact research and exceptional teaching in Business and Economics,” Professor Hamilton said.

“The hard work and dedication of our academics and researchers has positioned us among the world’s best and this result is credit to them.”

“It also gives confidence to our Business and Economics students that they are enrolled in world-class courses.”

In further recognition of La Trobe’s Business School, the University’s Master of Business Analytics course was recently named in the 2019 QS global rankings of best post-graduate business analytics courses.

The Times Higher Education subject rankings follow La Trobe achieving its highest position this decade in the 2019 Times Higher Education World Rankings. The University moved up to be placed 341 in the world.

The University is ranked in the top 400 universities worldwide by the three major independent rankings agencies – 317th in the ARWU global rankings and 397th in the QS World University Rankings.
