La Trobe Pro Vice-Chancellor for Science, Health and Engineering Professor Robert Pike said it was a well-deserved accolade for Life Sciences.
“Life Sciences has a rich and proud history at La Trobe and its research staff have made significant contributions to our research outcomes,” Professor Pike said.
“The top 200 THE world ranking matches the top 200 world ranking for Life Sciences achieved in 2016 in the Shanghai Ranking Academic Ranking of World Universities.
“The latest ranking caps off a remarkable year for Life Sciences, coming just a few weeks after Distinguished Professor Jenny Graves won the PM’s Prize for Science.”
La Trobe has also received a top 400 subject ranking for Clinical, Pre-clinical and Health in the latest THE world rankings.
It is the first time THE has extended rankings for Life Sciences and Clinical subjects beyond top 100.
