La Trobe University offers warm congratulations to all those in the La Trobe community who have been recognised in the 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
We take great pride in the achievements of our people, so it’s encouraging that over 30 staff members, alumni, friends and former staff members received honours. You can see the full list of those honoured below, but we would particularly like to acknowledge the following recipients;
Faculty member Dr Jennifer Webb AM was recognised for her significant service to education, particularly to archaeology, as an academic, researcher and author, and to the community.
Distinguished alumni Ian Carson AM and Simone Carson AM were recognised for their significant service to the community through contributions and leadership in the food rescue sector, and to business.
Friend of La Trobe University the Right Hon. Robert Doyle AC was recognised for his eminent service to the people of Melbourne through roles in local government, to the Parliament of Victoria, particularly in the areas of health and public administration, and to the community as a supporter of youth, social welfare and medical research foundations.
Friend of La Trobe University Ian Marshman AM was recognised for his significant service to education, particularly to dentistry, and to the community through youth mental health and emergency service groups.
