Award-winning economist and researcher, David Fleming-Munoz, has recently been appointed Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics in the La Trobe Business School.
Professor Fleming-Munoz will also play a key role as co-lead of the Food Business, Food Security and Digital Agriculture domain at the La Trobe Institute for Sustainable Agriculture and Food.
Professor Fleming-Munoz said he was excited to join the team at La Trobe University.
“In my new role, I will develop research projects on topics related to agricultural and food development, food security and the sustainable use of natural resources.”
“I am looking forward to building research teams, mentoring HDR students and collaborating with stakeholders to bring robust, transparent and useful solutions to agri-food and resource management challenges in Australia.”
“I also expect to develop projects to support other countries and the development of their rural communities.”
Professor Aron O’Cass, Dean of the La Trobe Business School, welcomed Professor Fleming-Munoz.

Professor Fleming-Munoz has authored over 60 research articles and reports, including publications in Nature and other top journals. He has won several awards for his work, including Best Paper Award from the Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics.
