Following on from an excellent start to 2024, LEAP athletes have continued to make their mark in their chosen sporting pursuits both at home and abroad with another excellent quarter throughout the Autumn months.
The LEAP program is proudly supported by TechnologyOne, and helps to identify, promote and support the needs of elite athletes studying at university by providing them with assistance and support to successfully combine their academic and sporting pursuits . The value of combining sport and higher education is well recognised across the university and sporting sectors, which is why La Trobe is committed to helping elite athletes undertaking study with the University.

1. Emma Berg: Australian Champion in Women's Open Shot Put, which makes her national champion three times in a row.
2. Thomas Reynolds: Represented Australia at the World Relay Championships (Season Best).
3. Zara Kfouri: Competed at the National Championships winning two National titles, and was selected to represent Australia on the U21 National Team.
4. Cooper Goulding: 2024 Melbourne International Judo Open winner in the senior men’s 90kg kyu grades.
5. Kayla Smit: Gold Medal at the ATV State Taekwondo Competition.
6. Christopher Jones: Silver Medal at the World Cheerleading Championships for the Level 7 Non-Tumble Division.
7. Jamie Cooksey: Selected to represent her team and Australia at the World Cheerleading Championships.
8. Amy Bachmann (pictured above): Bronze Medal at the Sydney CDI for the CDI Under 25 Grand Prix and CDN Medium Tour.
9. Cody Cuthbert: Gold Medal (with a score of 1 under) at the APS Golf Day.
10. Jessica Stone: Selected to represent Australia at the Womens' Junior Indoor Lacrosse World Championships.
11. Liam Park: Gold medal at the Australian Judo Championships for the 100kg+ category.
12. Bronwyn Cashin: Selected to represent Victoria at the Boxall National Women's Ice Hockey Championship.
13. Sophie Kurzman & Olivia Cartwright: Along with their team, the Victorian Women's State Team, won the 'Team of the Year' at the Victorian Sport Awards night.
14. Alana Bellman and Ella Gurry: Won a gold medal together at the FISAF State Championships and School Aerobics State Finals.
