Over 50 organisations, including Medibank, Deloitte, and Nutrien Ag Solutions, gathered at the Melbourne campus to engage with La Trobe students. The expo brought together industry representatives and more than 900 final-year students to explore graduate roles, entry-level job opportunities, part-time and casual positions, as well as student placements and vacation roles.
“The Employability Expo is a fantastic opportunity to partner with La Trobe University on Banyule City Council’s Workplace Pathways Program – which is redefining what’s possible in the workplace. It’s not just about offering placements and jobs; it’s about creating meaningful work,” said expo exhibitor Katrina Neuhofer, Organisational Development Coordinator, Banyule City Council.
“We had La Trobe student, Hamas, join the team. It’s been great to be a part of his journey from student to valued employee, illustrating the power of partnership and unlocking potential. We’re proud to work with La Trobe to turn aspirations into achievements.”
Exhibitors represented a variety of sectors and disciplines such as arts, social sciences and communications, business and commerce, criminology, engineering, information technology and science. The expo was followed by a networking event, encouraging further discussions on real-world opportunities for students.
La Trobe University aims to be the partner of choice for industry to connect with higher education.
