From March 17-21, 2025, Victorian universities and TAFEs will unite for Respect at Uni Week to promote respect, equality and inclusion. This initiative demonstrates our joint commitment to preventing sexual harm and gender-based violence across campuses, online spaces and communities.
La Trobe proudly supports Respect at Uni Week, as part of our Respect at La Trobe program. We are committed to creating a safe and respectful community through our Sexual Harm Prevention and Response Action Plan. Our Prevention and Inclusion team offers programs and initiatives to make the university a safe, inclusive and welcoming place for everyone..

Art for Respect: Creative Workshop & Free Food with a $250 voucher to be won!
Join us for Art for Respect, a creative workshop during Respect Week! Express yourself through art while exploring respect themes. Your artwork might contribute to the Prevention and Inclusion team’s branding, helping promote a respectful and safe university community. Plus, enjoy free food and learn about the support services available to you. By attending, you will also go in a raffle to win a voucher worth $250. No art experience is needed, just bring an open mind and have a good time getting creative in the beautiful Art Therapy space on the Bundoora campus!

Attend Respect Training
Access a range of free and evidence-based training to promote a respectful La Trobe Community. Build skills and knowledge that you can use in everyday life and put on your resume!
Complete the Respectful Behaviour and Culture Module (2024-RPC8010) on your LMS
The Respectful Behaviour and Culture Module is compulsory for all students commencing their studies. This module provides important information, supporting you to understand not only your responsibilities as a student but also your rights and how to get support.

Access Support with La Trobe’s Safer Community
La Trobe’s Safer Community Service is a free and confidential support service for all La Trobe students and staff. If you witness or experience inappropriate, threatening or concerning behaviour, please visit the Safer Community website to contact the service. You can use the website to contact Safer Community anonymously.

Community Sexual Harm Supports
- 1800 RESPECT: National sexual assault, domestic, family violence counselling service. Tel: 1800 737 732
- ESafety Commissioner: helps you report and deal with online abuse or illegal and restricted content.
- CASACV: For Bendigo students, trauma-informed counselling, advocacy and support for students who have experienced sexual assault, either recently or in the past.
- NCASA: 03 9496 2369, a sexual assault service located in Heidelberg. An NCASA counsellor also visits the Melbourne (Bundoora) Campus weekly and can be accessed through Health Wellbeing and Inclusion.
- Sexual Assault Crisis Line: Provide crisis response, support and advocacy for people who have experienced Sexual violence. After Hours Tel: 1800 806 292.
- Djirra: Djirra is a place where culture is shared and celebrated, and where practical support is available to all Aboriginal women and particularly to Aboriginal people who are currently experiencing family violence or have in the past. Tel: 1800 105 3030
- Daisy app: Connecting women who are experiencing or have experienced sexual assault, and domestic and family violence to services in their state and the local area.
