To heal, you need to be heard.
A counselling service from The Centre Against Sexual Assault – Central Victoria (CASACV) is now available on the Bendigo campus. This service is specifically for La Trobe students and will provide trauma-informed counselling, advocacy and support for students who have experienced sexual assault, either recently or in the past
What you can expect from counselling
Counselling with CASACV is free and confidential, and the counsellors are trained specialists with experience providing support and advocacy.
Counselling is non-judgmental, within a safe and supportive environment and will work with you at your pace.
There is no pressure to give explicit details about what happened to you. Trauma recovery can focus on how to manage difficulties that may arise now because of the sexual assault.
You can attend counselling sessions on the Bendigo campus or via telehealth.
How do I access this service?
You can access this service either by contacting CASACV directly and indicating that you are a La Trobe student or through the La Trobe counselling service
