Please join us on Saturday November 30 12-1:30 pm, for a listening session of the audio component of Roberta Joy Rich's fantastic biannual façade commission, Lying Inside.
This listening session will be followed by a discussion between Roberta Joy Rich and Rara Zulu, and an extended informal discussion with tea and coffee in the courtyard.
Extending from the façade, this sound work records Southern African diaspora in conversation including Roberta, Rara Zulu and her child. This dialogue brings Black voices to the fore of the institution’s engagement with cultural belongings, sharing in speculation, determining possibilities and imaginings of freedom; initiating a space for access and self-determination, propelling their histories beyond the institution’s basement.
