This new affiliation will strengthen our partnership’s collaboration and excellence in existing research, translation, patient care and education programs.
Accredited by the National Health and Medical Research Council in 2015 as an Advanced Health Research Translation Centre, Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre is an innovative partnership between leading health services, teaching and research organisations, and has been supporting the health and wellbeing of around three million Australians since 2011.
La Trobe’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Industry Engagement) Professor Susan Dodds said the University was pleased to be part of Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre.
“There has never been a more important time to focus on health. We are keenly aware of the benefits partnerships such as these can bring through improving connections and collaboration opportunities for researchers who have shared and complementary interests, expertise and goals. Combining specialist experience and expertise from different areas is key to improving health outcomes for our communities,” Professor Dodds said.
“We are looking forward to working with all the organisations who are part of Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre,” Professor Dodds said.
Executive Director of Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre, Professor Helena Teede said this new partnership is a strategic opportunity to extend current reach and impact.
“We are delighted to be working with La Trobe University whose research focuses on translational outcomes, including innovative interventions and models of care to improve the quality of life of patients, including the most vulnerable in our community and those from rural and indigenous backgrounds,” Professor Teede said.
