Whether you’re studying online or in person, the Library is the central hub of La Trobe University campuses. It offers much more than just books.
La Trobe Libraries are a place to connect and study. You can grab a coffee, print, use a computer and access support.
Here are the top five reasons to make the Library your new best friend.
1. Workshops and training
The Library offers a range of classes and workshops on essential skills such as:
- referencing
- academic writing
- academic skills support
- using Microsoft Office
- reading and notetaking
- understanding plagiarism and using Turnitin
2. Researching for your assessment
Are you a little intimidated by your reading list? There’s no need to worry. La Trobe Library provides a simple one-stop searching tool for books and ebooks, videos, articles, digital media and more. You can search using our online database.
3. Guides and resources
The Library also has a wide range of guides to support you.
Are you curious about using Artificial Intelligence (AI), but want to use it responsibly? We have a guide for that.
Do you want to see examples for La Trobe’s prescribed refencing style? We have a guide for that too!
Do you sometimes wish you had a step-by-step assessment planner, with personalised deadlines? You guessed it, you can access one right here.
4. Face-to-face support
We understand that sometimes you need to talk to someone face-to-face. You can book an appointment with a Librarian, an Academic Skills Advisor or a Peer Learning Advisor (PLA). You can even connect with a tutor specialising in maths, science or coding.
5. Support tailored to you
The Library offers specific resources for international students, as well as students that are registered with the AccessAbility team.
