Commencing 18 November 2024, essential structural rectification works will take place on the exterior of the elevated walkway between HU2 and HU3, affecting the exterior to levels 2, 3 and 4. The works will include patching concrete and replacing some windows.
The interior of the elevated walkways will remain accessible throughout the construction work, to allow travel between the two buildings on Levels 2, 3 and 4. The project is expected to be completed in early February 2025.
Impacts during the works will include:
- Noise: Expect increased noise from machinery and construction activities.
- Building access: The Level 1 entrances to both buildings will be blocked off beneath the walkway.
- Access to HU3 will be via the northern side of the building (facing Simpson Lawn).
- Access to HU2 will be via the southern entrance of ED1 and through ED2.
- To walk between HU2 and HU3, please use Levels 2-4 and then the stairs or lift.
- Road closure and parking: The roadway directly beneath the elevated walkway will be closed, resulting in three accessible parking spaces being unavailable. Nearby alternative accessible parking is located to the north and south of DME.
- Bathroom and Muslim Washroom: Bathrooms on Levels 2, 3 and 4 of HU3, and the Muslim Washrooms on Level 2 will remain accessible. Please note that frosted windows will be blacked out to enhance privacy during the works.
