Not every day at uni feels like a win, and that’s okay

This is written by our student senior intern, Akshad.

When everything feels a bit off, like you’re stuck while everyone else is soaring? This one’s for those moments. A gentle reminder: you’re not behind, you’re just human.

Here’s something to sit with on the heavy days:

They say these are the best years, the golden prime,
but some days feel like you’re falling behind.
Deadlines looming, your inbox stacked,
a smile on your face, but your mind’s off track.

You scroll through posts of wins and praise,
while you’re just trying to make it through the haze.
“Why am I stuck while they all fly?”
You sigh. You question. You wonder why.

But here’s the truth no one displays:
growth still happens on the cloudy days.
The days you show up, tired and slow,
are proof of strength you didn’t know.

You’ve skipped a few lectures, that’s okay.
You’ve doubted your course, that’s part of the way.
You’ve turned down plans to save your pay,
you’re protecting peace. That’s not cliché.

You’re not the only one who’s scared inside,
who’s cried at night, but wiped it dry.
You’re not the only one who’s had to fake
confidence just for survival’s sake.

So, breathe, reset, and take it slow,
the path is winding, let it flow.
Your journeys yours. It’s not a race.
You’re not behind. You’re in your place.

And if the weight feels too much to bear,
there’s help around. There are people who care.
A talk, a walk, a single chat
can spark a light, imagine that.

So, start with one thing, just today,
a tiny win along the way.
You’re not alone. You’re not a mess.
You’re still learning, and that’s success!
