Workshop: Voting in the federal election for the first time (Bendigo, Bundoora or Online)
On 3 May 2025, we’re going to have a federal election in Australia, giving us the chance to shape the future of this country. Participating in democracy and being empowered to make change can have great benefits for our overall wellbeing. However, voting for the first (or second or third) time can be daunting and confusing for some people.
Don’t worry, we’re here to help! This 1-hour workshop will tell you what to expect on election day, how to make an early or absentee vote and how to fill in your election forms, as well as giving you a crash course on how preferential voting works. Of course, we won’t be telling you who to vote for, but we will give you some tools to work it out for yourself.
Sessions
Bendigo: Monday 14 April 12pm–1pm
Online: Monday 14 April 2pm–3pm
Bundoora: Thursday 17 April 12pm–1pm
PS If you’re 18 or older and an Australian citizen, you must enrol to vote in this Federal election by 8pm on Monday 7 April. Do it here: https://www.aec.gov.au/enrol/
