How to get the most out of Orientation

Uni starts with YOU! It’s almost time to start your uni adventure with Orientation! 

With Orientation just around the corner, now is the time to start planning! Our Orientation Planner will help you create your own customised Orientation plan.

Our Orientation Planner shows you what’s on at your campus, including social events and campus tours, as well as workshops and events that are specific to your area of study. 

Attending Orientation will help you get set up before classes start. It’s your first chance to meet your teachers, find out about your course, meet other students, sort out any admin issues and have your questions answered.

Immerse yourself in the culture of La Trobe University, learn more about academic support services and enjoy free food, music and giveaways.

How to get the most out of Orientation

1PLAN your Orientation
Check out the Orientation Planner and create your custom Orientation plan. Your customised Orientation plan can include a mix of On Demand and live sessions, as well as on campus events – you get to choose!

2. EXPLORE Orientation On Demand
Get a head start on Orientation before it all kicks off. Watch the helpful video content and explore the online resources that are related to your area of study. Our Ready, Set, La Trobe! sessions have been designed by our ASK La Trobe team to answer the top questions asked by new students. 

3. HAVE FUN on campus during O Week
Let the fun times begin! Explore your campus, make new friends and get yourself ready to study. Make sure you have a good look through the Orientation Planner and add your campus events to your customised Orientation plan.

How you can access Orientation

On Demand
On Demand content is available 24/7 via the Orientation Planner. Here you’ll be able to ask questions and access more resources. 

Live Virtual Sessions
You can join these sessions via the Orientation Planner. These sessions are presented via Zoom or ON24.  You can ask questions and interact with other students and staff at these sessions.

On campus
On campus events will help you meet students and staff and get to know your campus. Online students are welcome to attend on campus Orientation events.
