Rapid developments in technology are having a huge impact on all our lives.
Students are invited to find out how Artificial Intelligence and other advances in technology are changing our classrooms during a free public lecture: Empowering Minds: Navigating the Educational Landscape of Tomorrow, at the La Trobe University Bendigo Campus.
In this lecture, Professor of STEM Education Therese Keane, will discuss the complexities that AI and learning technologies bring and how educators can embrace the opportunities they present.
Professor Keane will tackle important questions including: What skills do we need to teach our children to be ready for the technologies of the work world or tomorrow? How do we evaluate the benefits and risks associated with adopting technology? And how, when we use these technologies, do we continue to foster creativity in students?
Professor Keane will provide examples of innovative technologies that have been successfully applied in education – some with unexpected outcomes – and explain how we might foster and prepare students for jobs that don’t yet exist. ‘Space Lawyer’, anyone?
