Wodonga and Albury councils award students from La Trobe University each year to recognise their efforts and input in the below categories.
Aboriginal studies: Awarded to an Indigenous student who in furthering their education has answered the call of their ancestors, and with the support of their families and communities has crafted a new future.
Outstanding contribution to the Local Community: Awarded to a student who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the local community in Albury/Wodonga.
Outstanding contribution to equity, diversity and inclusivity: Awarded to a student who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to equity, diversity and inclusivity in Albury/Wodonga.
Sustainability and the Environment: Awarded to a higher degree student who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to sustainability or the environment.
$500 AlburyCity Community Leadership prize: Awarded to talented students from the Albury/Wodonga region who are studying at the Albury-Wodonga campus and have demonstrated their commitment to campus life and community leadership.
If you think you meet the criteria of one of the prizes, find a La Trobe staff member you’re comfortable with and ask them to consider nominating you.
Your nominee could be anyone from one of your lecturers, a student advisor or someone from the wellbeing team, it could be the Head of Campus, a library staff member or your placement officer.
